I come here every few days, very consistent, well cooked food, and good staff aswell.

Hangover CURED! Classic Tex-Mex eatery on the edge of Johnson City. All your standard Mexican fares, great coffee, in a simple surrounding. Service was good and food was fast. Remember, you ain't in the "big city", you're in a small town...thing are welcoming laid back. Will be back every time I'm passing thru the Texas Wine Country (and need to heal from another day of over indulgence!)

Surprising little place with BIG TACOS and a lot of flavor! Must try the Steak a la Mexicana - the best! The red salsa has the perfect bite. The horchata is plentiful. If you get the opportunity, stop by and find your favorite menu item here. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Best food in Blanco. While other restaurants came and went this place has always had a full parking lot. Amazing breakfast tacos and big portions for lunch and dinner. A good place to relax after a long day working.

$7 for 4 amazingly simple and delicious tacos. The shredded chicken was moist and flavorful and the simple onion and cilantro toppings with the 2 salsa verse sauces to choose from were perfect complements. Super filling. Amazing amazing amazing.

Charming location nussled away off highway 281. Friendly staff, plenty of seating for families. Excellent prices for a quick bite. The free chips salsa only made me want their delicious food more. The chimichanagas were so amazing deadpool would have been proud to eat here. This was the first time where I've ever eaten my entire plate at a Mexican restaurant.

Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted immediately by the staff. I noticed the sign that said seat yourself so I did period within one minute of being seated the waitress was already taking my drink order and handing me a menu. The coffee that I ordered was excellent. I ordered the huevos rancheros with an extra egg over medium, a side of barbacoa, and two pancakes. Unfortunately the refried beans were lukewarm at best. As a matter of fact, all of my food was not hot. The Barbacoa was not greasy which I was a very appreciative of, but it was lacking in flavor. The tortillas were homemade, the flour tortillas that is. The waitress states that the corn tortillas are bought. The pancakes were great. I would have given this rating of 5 if my food would have been hot as for the atmosphere, there was Mexican music playing in the background to set the mood. The staff and I'm assuming the owner were very friendly. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, I just wish it was hot.

Very nice and easy to park even with a trailer one better park a semi and trailer. The food is awsome ir you have a chance to in and tell them hello.

Service was wonderful! Every social exchange I had was pleasant. Bathrooms were clean and smelled clean which is always a plus. The food was wonderful. I had the Potatoes and egg burrito. It was large and delicious and I really look forward to heating it back up for dinner.

This place is really good. I put it against any Mexican restaurant in Austin. It would beat out a lot of them out. The prices here are very reasonable too. I had their street tacos and lemonade. They were freaking awesome. The lady that took care of us was super friendly and the cook was funny. We could hear him singing while he prepared our food. Happy cook great food.

Amazing homemade Tex-Mex! I just died when I saw that they had homemade corn tortillas! Fast service! Great prices! Seriously, eat here!

Love the salsa!! Perfect combination of tangy and that perfectly roasted pepper flavor served with fresh, warm chips. So good. I got beef enchiladas and a crispy taco. My husband got the chicken chimichangas. Both were outstanding! The wait staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely dine here again the next time we're in Johnson City.

Good solid tex-mex. The best in Johnson City to eat. Our favorite place to drive to from Austin because their cheese chili relleno is the perfect balance of chunky sauce with the right melted cheese!

Excellent tortillas, food was fresh and pretty reasonable. My wife did join care for the tortas however.

Good food but slow and spotty service. They seemed to be short handed the night we went so never got a refill on my drink or chips. I had to take my check upfront to finally ring out since no one came back to our table. Even then, the two working ignored me while filling drinks. I would go back in but not willing to take a chance on the service.

Food was good but we were starving!

My family and I stopped here for lunch on our way to Fredericksburg. I was pretty hangry by the time we got here because our original lunch destination sold out of food. Food was speedy, cheap, and delicious. Portions were generous. Would return again to cure my hanger haha.

The proverbial diamond in the rough! We found great Mexican food where we thought there was none. All the important bases were covered, food was delicious service was great atmosphere was very good.

In commercial production or other professional work, there's a concept called the Iron Triangle. You can get things done Quick, Cheap, or Good. Pick two.El Charro is one of those good old Mexican restaurants that defies this theory. You know what they say about the exception that proves the rule? This is the place they were talking about. Great food and service, fast and affordable. How can you not like a tortilla full off eggs and meat and veggies? Try the machacado!

Great place good food and good prices .

I had the Fajitas Mixtas, and they were superb. The service was great, the atmosphere is right, the price is reasonable, and they even played Tragos Amargos. It was outstanding! I almost hate to leave.

Classic Tex mex in a mom and pop shop. Great prices and the food came out sizzling in less than 10 minutes. Great service. We had the carnitas a la mexicana (stir fry spicy pork) and the fajita mixta with shrimp chicken and beef to try all the proteins. The fajitas were 11.99 but would easily feed 2. Very good flour tortillas and the hot sauce is outstanding. We will be back. That hot sauce left a party in my mouth.

The best Barbacoa burrito I've had since I left Arizona 20 years ago!. I liked it so much for lunch yesterday I went back again today at lunch for another one, and I'm thinking about getting another one for dinner.

Breakfast was very good. Barbacoa was lean, very good. The over easy eggs were well done. But all in all it was good. Salsa delicious.

This place was absolutely disgusting. You can see the grease on the plate. I trashed my whole plate of nachos something is wrong when you can see tons of grease under the beans on a plate of nachos.

Great food. Like fantastic street tacos, beans and rice. Pretty good salsa, you can always tell what your getting into at a Mexican place just by their chips and salsa. Probably one of the few times that I wanted to keep eating even as I was stuffed because it was so good. One of the few times I finished my plate at a Mexican restaurant. Fantastic. And it's cheap!

What can I say, I love this restaurant so much and they have awesome food and very good service.
